2010 FRC Excellence in Design Award Entry: Darwin’s Full Robot Assembly
Project Overview | Full Robot Assembly | Drivetrain | Kicker | Electronics

Through collaborative brainstorming that involved individual and small group input, as well as presentations Dawgma set crossing the bumps, passing through the tunnels, and kicking balls as its top three priorities in designing and constructing its FRC robot for 2010 to play the game Breakaway. Darwin weighs in at a lean 85 pounds for inspection and when fully dressed for competition with bumpers and battery, competes at 110 pounds. At 17.5 inches high, with a base frame of 25″ wide x 35″ long Darwin is able to pass through the tunnels on the Breakaway field as well as cross the bumps with a six-wheel drivetrain and low center of gravity.
